Genesis 27:6-8 (NIV)

"Rebekah said to her son Jacob, 'Look, I overheard your father say to your brother Esau, 'Bring me some game and prepare me some tasty food to eat, so that I may give you my blessing in the presence of the LORD before I die.'' Now, my son, listen carefully and do what I tell you."

Devotional:

In our pursuit of amazing blessings, we often find ourselves yearning for the fulfillment of our deepest desires. We desire success, prosperity, and favor, but sometimes we fail to recognize the channels through which these blessings flow. Today, we look at the story of Isaac and Rebecca, two channels that were instrumental in bringing about amazing blessings in their family.

Isaac, being the chosen recipient of God's promises, held the potential to unlock incredible blessings for his descendants. However, his wife Rebecca also played a significant role. Though the blessing was primarily intended for Isaac's favored son, Esau, Rebecca recognized an opportunity to redirect this blessing to Jacob. Her actions were not out of malice but out of wisdom and discernment. She understood that Esau's disregard for his father's heart and his failure to reconcile with his wives would hinder the fulfillment of God's purposes for their family.

Rebecca's decision may seem controversial, but it highlights an important lesson for us today. We must be cautious to not disregard or despise the channels God places in our lives to bring about His amazing blessings. These channels may not be the prominent figures or key people we expect, but they hold strong connections that we cannot afford to overlook. They play a vital role in our journey towards fulfilling our God-given purpose.

As we reflect on this passage, let us examine our own hearts. Are there Isaac's in our lives, people whom God has designated as channels of amazing blessings? Have we hurt or disregarded them due to our own personal agendas or lack of understanding? Similarly, have we treated our Rebecca's poorly, those individuals who support and influence the channels of blessings in our lives?

Sometimes, we may find it easier to cherish our prominent connections while neglecting those who play a more indirect but crucial role. Let us not make this mistake. Instead, let us learn from Rebecca's example and honor the channels of amazing blessings in our lives. Let us value and respect those who are divinely placed to redirect and guide us towards God's abundant blessings.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, recognizing the importance of the channels You have placed in our lives. We repent for any hurt, disregard, or lack of appreciation we have shown towards those individuals who hold the key to our amazing blessings. Help us to discern and honor these connections, whether they be Isaacs or Rebecca's. Grant us the wisdom to nurture and maintain healthy relationships, always recognizing that Your plans for our lives often involve the involvement of others. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
