Psalms 133:1-3
"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore." (Psalms 133:1-3)
In this passage, the psalmist beautifully captures the essence and power of unity. Oneness, or unity, is a state where husband and wives are in harmony, brothers and sisters are in agreement, and communities are united. It is a state where there is no division, strife, or discord. It is a state that brings forth amazing blessings from the Lord.
The psalmist declares that unity is not only good but also pleasant. It is a joyous and delightful experience when brethren come together in harmony. Just as the precious ointment that was poured on Aaron's head, unity brings a sweet fragrance that permeates every aspect of our lives. It is a fragrance that attracts the favor and blessings of God.
When we are united, it is as refreshing as the dew that descends upon the mountains of Zion. The dew brings life and vitality to the dry land, nourishing it and causing it to flourish. Likewise, unity breathes life into our relationships, families, and communities. It brings growth, prosperity, and a sense of purpose.
The psalmist emphasizes that it is in the place of unity that the Lord commands His blessings. When we are united, we position ourselves to receive the abundant blessings that God has in store for us. It is in this oneness that we find His favor, provision, protection, and guidance. The blessings that flow from unity are not temporary but everlasting, bringing life and joy forevermore.
One amazing key to experiencing these incredible blessings is to be united as one. When we come together with a common purpose, vision, and heart, God testifies that nothing we imagine to do will be impossible. As we unite, we cast out the devil of failure and step into a realm of supernatural possibilities.
Let us, therefore, strive for unity in our marriages, families, churches, and communities. Let us seek forgiveness, reconciliation, and understanding. May we lay aside our differences and come together in love, humility, and respect. As we do so, we open the floodgates of heaven and invite the amazing blessings that God has in store for us.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the incredible blessing of unity. Help us to understand the power and importance of oneness in our relationships, families, and communities. Teach us to lay aside our differences and come together in love and harmony. Pour out Your blessings upon us as we strive for unity, and may Your favor and grace be evident in every aspect of our lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
